Synopsis:
“In The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.”
Set roughly 100 years before The Skywalker Saga, The Acolyte situates itself during the final days of The High Republic. This new era saw the Jedi Order at its prime, centuries prior to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. The Jedi were at their strongest and the galaxy was at peace. Compared to the Jedi we see in the Prequels, who dabbled in politics and became pawns, these Jedi were true peace keepers, and their bond with The Force was at its most potent. Now, if you’re new to this era Star Wars, The Acolyte should be a great introduction into something quite fresh and new. However, if you love Star Wars as much as we do, then we highly recommend reading the books of The High Republic. The stories are wild and the world building is magnificent, the High Republic is Star Wars at its richest and boldest.
Anyway, back to The Acolyte…
Joining Stenberg and Jung-jae in The Acolyte is Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
