DC Reveals Chip Zdarksy’s BATMAN to Debut Two Issues in June

Both Batman issues #148 and #149 will release in June 2024.

Today, DC has revealed their full solicitations for June 2024 and it includes a surprise bonus issue for Chip Zdarky’s Batman. The series will debut its 148th issue on June 4 before releasing issue #149 on June 18. The issues will wrap up the current “Dark Prisons” arc.

With Failsafe running the streets of Gotham and Bruce struggling to keep control over Zur-En-Arrh, June will see the culmination of Zdarsky’s entire run on Batman to-date. Will the rest of the Bat-Family be able to save Bruce (and Gotham) before it’s too late?

Batman #148 ships with a main cover from series artist Jorge Jimenez and will feature variants from Woo-Chul, Yasmine Putri, Homare, Gabriel Dell’Otto and a DC Pride variant from Skylar Patridge. Here’s your first look at each of the covers:

    “DARK PRISONS – FINALE”
It all comes down to this: Batman versus Batman! With Damian’s life—and the future of Gotham—hanging in the balance, nothing can prepare either version of the Dark Knight for what’s about to happen!

Two weeks later, Zdarsky will return alongside artist Michele Bandini for a bonus epilogue story. Batman #149 will feature covers from Jimenez, Dell’Otto, Belen Ortega, Dan Panosian and Steve Lieber.

    “DARK PRISONS – EPILOGUE”
When confronted with the totality of your life, and all the choices that led you to where you are, do you build on the ashes, or rise from them? The Batman who is left standing will have to answer this question quickly, as someone is already sifting through those ashes, with an eye toward saving the world!

Stay tuned this weekend for more news from DC’s June 2024 lineup.
