The Super Bowl is the gift that keeps on giving, and tonight we received a brand new trailer for the upcoming installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which takes place way after Caesar’s passing in War. Jam packed with all new footage, this trailer really is epic in terms of scale. We get a better sense of the story, a fantastic look at the characters, including the film’s main antagonist Proximus Caesar, who gives off Koba vibes. We cannot wait for this one.
Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
