Paramount+ has just released the first full trailer for Knuckles, the highly anticipated Sonic The Hedgehog TV spinoff that sees Idris Elba return as the iconic Echidna warrior. Adam Pally reprises his role as Wade Whipple, and it appears as though the two will be going on a journey of self-discovery. Knuckles will be searching for his place on Earth, while Wade will be going under some intense training as Knuckles’ protégé to become an Echidna warrior. That can only end well.
In addition to the trailer, we also received a brilliant new poster, as well as the official release date for this limited 6-episode event. Knuckles will be airing on Paramount+ on Friday, April 26th in the U.S. and Canada. Additional Paramount+ territories will be able to enjoy the entire series the following day, April 27th.
The series stars Idris Elba, Adam Pally, Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Scott Mescudi (Don’t Look Up), Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso), Julian Barratt (Mindhorn), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones), Cary Elwes (Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Paul Scheer (Black Monday), and Rob Huebel (Childrens Hospital).
Ben Schwartz will also reprise his role as Sonic, as well as special guest star Tika Sumpter, reprising her role as Maddie. Colleen O’Shaughnessey will also return as Tails.
Many of the creators from the previous films are back as well. Director/executive producer Jeff Fowler directed the pilot episode. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, John Whittington and Toru Nakahara are back as executive producers. Elba also serves as executive producer. Additional directors include Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone and Carol Banker.
