Despite claims of retiring, Jim Carrey is gearing up for another epic showdown with his most dangerous foe… Sonic the Hedgehog. According to a report via Variety, Carrey is set to return as the mad scientist Dr. Robotnik. The second film ended with Robotnik’s supposed “desmise”, but the post credit scenes showed that the army were unable to locate his body. What could he be up to this time? And does it involve Shadow?
On top of that, we also received a look at the official title card for the upcoming sequel which seemingly teases the inevitable clash between Sonic and Shadow.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is directed once again by Jeff Fowler. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara and Hitoshi Okuno will produce the film, which is set to be released on December 20th, 2024.
