Now, let’s address the elephant in the room… Or the Bantha. Asajj Ventress is back in town. The shocking reveal has caused quite the stir online. Not because Ventress is back, she’s an absolute fan-favourite, but the question is… How? Readers who love Christie Golden’s 2015 Dark Disciple will know that Ventress sacrificed herself to save Jedi Master Quinlan Vos. She was struck down by Count Dooku, who hit her with a deadly barrage of Force lightning. After her death, Ventress’ body was returned to Dathomir where she received a proper burial.
The events of Dark Disciple take place before Revenge of the Sith, hence Dooku’s presence. But the events of The Bad Batch take place afterwards, so you can see what the issue is. Ventress should be dead, so is this a flashback? or is there some Dathomian meddling happening here? We’ll have to wait and see, but Brad Rau, the supervising director of The Bad Batch, has assured fans that all will be revealed in this new season.
“We don’t want to spoil anything, but want fans to know that any new storytelling with Ventress will align with the events of Star Wars: Dark Disciple.”
