Although Ahsoka has been and gone, we’ve taken comfort in the fact that there is still more to this story. In one way or another, our favourite characters will be back in the future. How could they not be after that gripping finale? We’ll have quite a lot of waiting to do, but Hot Toys have been providing us with some well-needed announcements to fill that Star Wars hole we’ve been desperately trying to fill. So far, Hot Toys have announced a Sabine, Hera, and Chopper figure, all of which are utterly brilliant. But the true pièce de résistance is their most recent reveal…
The Empire has fallen, but a greater threat looms as the last Grand Admiral waits to make his first move. Thrawn is a calculative, cunning and tactical genius that is capable of thwarting any obstacle in his way. As a huge fan of Timothy Zahn’s work on Thrawn, having the Chiss Admiral appear in the live-action world was a gift in itself. The fact that he has now been made into a Hot Toy is something else entirely. And surprise, surprise! Hot Toys have made another work of art, Thrawn would be proud.
The Grand Admiral has arrived…
Isn’t he magnificent? Hot Toys have absolutely nailed the face sculpt which captures the stern and focused expression of Lars Mikkelsen perfectly. Equipped with the instantly recognisable burning red eyes of the Chiss, this figure is in a league of its own. The dangerous and calculative Grand Admiral is available to preorder via Sideshow Collectibles. The figure is due to be released between October 2024 and March 2025 with a price tag of £216 ($255).
