Okay Star Trek fans. We’re under a week away from the return of the brilliant Star Trek: Lower Decks now. Season 4 premiers on Paramount+ in the UK on September 7, 2023 with not one but two brand new episodes and today we’ve got a whole bunch of new stills for you to check out plus a brand new poster.
In season four, an unknown force is destroying starships and threatening galactic peace. Luckily, the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos isn’t important enough for stuff like that! Instead, Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford and Provisional Ensign T’Lyn are keeping up with their Starfleet duties, avoiding malevolent computers and getting stuck in a couple caves – all while encountering new and classic aliens along the way.
Before we get to the images from episodes one and two of the new season, Paramount+ has also debuted new poster artwork which finds our crew caught in the middle of a rather dire situation!
In our first impressions review of season 4, Neil says “season 4 is shaping up to be the most consistent entry of Lower Decks to-date. New serialised storytelling elements add a new level of intrigue which feels in keeping with modern-Trek without altering the DNA of Lower Decks incredible humour.”
We’re not yet able to share with you the synopsis for either of next week’s premiere episodes. But we can show off these new episode images which have now been officially release. First up is season 4 premiere, “Twovix”. What we can tell you is this one was written by Mike McMahan and directed by Barry J. Kelly and Jason Zurek. Check out eight new stills from the episode below:
Then it’s on to episode 402, otherwise known as I Have No Bones Yet I Must Flee”. Again we can’t tell you too much about this episode but it was written by Aaron Burdette and directed by Megan Lloyd. This episode will feature the debut of the already fan-favourite character Moopy!
The Starfleet crew residing in the “lower decks” of the U.S.S. Cerritos includes Ensign Beckett Mariner, voiced by Tawny Newsome; Ensign Brad Boimler, voiced by Jack Quaid; Ensign Tendi, voiced by Noël Wells; and Ensign Rutherford, voiced by Eugene Cordero. The Starfleet characters that comprise the U.S.S. Cerritos’ bridge crew include Captain Carol Freeman, voiced by Dawnn Lewis; Commander Jack Ransom, voiced by Jerry O’Connell; Lieutenant Shaxs, voiced by Fred Tatasciore; and Doctor T’Ana, voiced by Gillian Vigman.
