We’re one week away from witnessing the epic two-episode premiere of Disney+’s Ahsoka series, which stars Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano – who recently celebrated her 15th anniversary. 15 years of Ahsoka Tano. The anticipation is reaching its boiling point, and Disney+ have decided to double down on their attempt to build even more excitement… And it’s working. Posters, featurettes, and short trailers have been thrown at us pretty much every day, and we’re fine with that. However, nothing could prepare us for the recent trailer simply titled… “Force”.
The new trailer utilises footage of Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker from Obi-Wan Kenobi, clearly highlighting the impact Anakin has on Ahsoka, but does something even more surprising… We hear Anakin. This isn’t just recycled footage either, because there isn’t any. We have never heard Christensen utter Ahsoka’s name in a Star Wars project before. Until now.
“In this war, you will face more than just droids. As your master, it’s my responsibility to prepare you. I won’t always be there to look out for you. Don’t be afraid, trust your instincts. I know you can do this, Ahsoka,”
Chills. Obviously, we can deduce that this piece of dialogue is from some sort of flashback scene. Anakin is clearly training Ahsoka in preparation for the dreadful Clone Wars, which means we should see a much younger (and perhaps cockier) version of Snips. At the moment, it’s unclear how Anakin will appear and for how long, but it’s likely that Anakin’s presence will be felt throughout the entire show.
The two-episode series premiere of Ahsoka, a Star Wars Original series, arrives August 23 on Disney+
