    New Story Trailer For PlayStation’s MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN 2

San Diego Comic-Con is the gift that keeps on giving, and both Insomniac Games and PlayStation made a special trip up to Hall H to talk about their highly anticipated game – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Not only did we get a brand new story-focused trailer, we also got some great info on what we can expect in this sequel from Senior Creative Director Bryan Intihar and Senior Narrative Director Jon Paquette. The icing on the cake was this incredible first-look at the PS5 Custom cover and matching DualSense wireless controller- They are both stunning.

This new trailer gives us our best look yet, not only at the spidey action that we love so much, but also at the core narrative beats that are at the heart of this game.

“At the beginning of our story, our Spider-Men are at the top of their game,” said Paquette. “But both Peter Parker and Miles Morales are struggling with their personal lives. Miles is trying to find time to write his college entrance essay, but he keeps procrastinating and focusing on Spider-Work instead. Meanwhile, Peter is underwater on payments for Aunt May’s house, but he can’t sell, it means too much to him. And just like Miles, Peter tries (and fails) to find balance with so many responsibilities. MJ wants to help Pete with the mortgage, but her job is on the line now that J. Jonah Jameson is back at the Bugle and looking to clean house. Our heroes have arrived at a confluence of crossroads, with uncertain futures, and some tough decisions ahead.”

That’s when Kraven steps in to lighten the mood… When Kraven arrives in New York, it sets off a chain reaction… Who is Kraven? Why is he here? What is he hunting? Just as the Spideys and MJ go Sherlock Holmes on the hunter, Venom is let loose…

Just as we all know, donning the Symbiote suit comes with its own unique set of pros and cons. While the power is indeed intoxicating, the suit slowly begins to consume Peter and threatens the relationships his Miles, MJ and a newly restored Harry. It will be a battle both physically and mentally for Miles and Peter.

“When we decided to craft a Venom story, we knew we’d be making a bit of a tone shift. The best symbiote stories serve as an allegory: We all have darkness inside of us– but what would happen if we let it take over? With the introduction of the symbiote into our franchise, our heroes are forced to battle darkness, in all its forms,” added Paquette. “We wanted to see them change, both inside and outside, and feel the effect it has on those around them. And when Venom takes control, they face the real danger that they could lose themselves, and their loved ones, forever.”

Check out the story trailer below:

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is now available for Pre-Order via the PlayStation Store. So suit up and get ready, because you’re going to need all of the help you can get. Lizard, Kraven, Venom, and who knows what/who else will be coming after you… Will Peter and Miles have the strength to conquer their greatest challenge yet? Find out on October 20th- Only on PS5.
