You could be forgiven for thinking that June 2023 was purely the month of the blockbuster. But there’s one hotly anticipated movie which promises to be an antidote to big studio tentpoles.
On June 23, Universal Pictures releases Asteroid City. The latest film from writer/director Wes Anderson takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955. The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.
The studio has dropped a brand new poster for the film which brings together the huge ensemble cast which includes names like Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston and Margot Robbie. Check out the poster below:
Based on a story by Anderson and Roman Coppola Asteroid City stars a huge ensemble cast featuring Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton and Adrien Brody.
Also starring are Live Schriber, Hope Davis, Stephen Dark, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem DaFoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan and Jeff Goldblum.
Asteroid City will be released in cinemas in the UK and Eire on 23rd June 2023.
