Toss a coin to your Witcher! We have finally received our first look at the third season of Netflix’s The Witcher, which stars Henry Cavill as Geralt, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra. To celebrate its upcoming release this Summer, Netflix have shared the first poster and teaser trailer for Season 3. The stakes have never been higher for Geralt as he fights to protect Ciri from the Wild Hunt.
The teaser trailer doesn’t give us a lot to go on, but it certainly gives us enough to get the hype flowing once again. The teaser delivers brief glimpses of each character and teases something that made Geralt feel genuine fear for the first time- Can you believe that? What that is remains a mystery, but there is a possibility that it relates to the Wild Hunt who are finally entering the fight.
Of course, the biggest question on everyone’s mind isn’t how the story will unravel… But how the series will handle Cavill’s departure. We still have 8 full episodes to enjoy of Henry living his best nerd life. Let’s cherish them and hope Cavill walks away with his head held high.
As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to uncover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.
Surprisingly, the third season will be split into two parts with part one (5 episodes) airing on June 29th. The second part will then drop on Netflix on July 27th. This second part will consist of 3 episodes and will mark the end of Henry Cavill’s journey as Geralt of Rivia.
