We’ve known for some time now that the first fully-fledged project from James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU won’t arrive until 2025’s Superman: Legacy. But before that the new universe will launch softly with seven-episode animated series Creature Commandos.
That series has now announced its full voice cast including the MCU’s former Crossbones, Frank Grillo. Joining Grillo will be Stranger Things and fellow-MCU actor David Harbour, Kenobi‘s Indira Varma plus Zoe Chao, Alan Tudyk, Sean Gunn and Steve Agee.
The series will focus on the creation of a black ops team out of prisoners in a similar vein to Task Force X. Coincidentally, Viola Davis will also return to DC to voice Amanda Waller in the series.
Sean Gunn will voice Weasel, Grillo is Rick Flag Sr., Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Varma is The Bride, Chao is Nina Mazursky, Tudyk is Dr. Phosphorus, Harbour is Eric Frankenstein and Agee is John Economos.
James Gunn wrote all the episodes of the series, which is yet to confirm a premiere date.
