Review
In this issue we are taken straight to the heart of the battle as the World’s Finest team up to protect Earth from the impending Reach invasion and stop the Beetle threat. However it seems that they are looking in the wrong place and the Beetles aren’t the threat at all they merely wish to protect from Reach in an on going feud spanning centuries, but it’s now down to Jaime to link back to Khaji Da and show the Finest that they are not the threat, but is the convincing too late? Have Batman and Superman already made their minds up? Jaime must win the trust of his peers and prove himself worthy to be called a hero and that time is now. This war is ramping up ready for the epic conclusion in the next final issue and it is sure to be explosive and definitely not to be missed.
I’ve personally really enjoyed the return of the Blue Beetle character as Josh Trujillo has taken the book back to the comic glory days where the heroes were brash and the comics were explosive and just pure entertainment, each issue has been building to this epic endgame battle that could very well blow the comic world away. I love how the writing seamlessly adds in characters without overshadowing the main story and it all works really well.
The illustrations are as equally explosive as the story itself, Adrian Gutierrez provides vibrant imagery that really highlights the action packed story bringing to life each page and lighting the touch paper for the explosive finale to come.
Verdict
The whole series so far has been a straight 5⭐ and this issue is definitely no different, the writing invigorates me and the illustrations just blew my mind. The creative team have unleashed a comic monster and we need to get ourselves ready.
