Review
In this chilling second issue we are taken back to the small unassuming town with a horrific legend that lurks in it’s shadows. A legend that has been talked about for generations has actually come true with some still doubting it’s very existence, but do so at your peril!.
Jessa and her friends are determined to enjoy the night even though the thought of the “Harrower” is rattling her brain, a few drinks will sort it out, right? As Jessa and her friends party the night and their inhibitions away the Harrower lurks in the shadows ready to pounce, but it’s just a myth right? One thing is for sure this party will definitely be the party to remember.
As horror comics go Harrower has been a the most gripping I have read, I’m only two issues deep into this chilling arc and I am fully hooked. Justin Jordan has created a potential horror icon to rival the best of them, the story at first seems a pretty generic teen horror but it hits on a different level, the writing depicts a realistic story that chills right down to your bones and the character of the Harrower is enough to haunt anyone’s nightmares.
The illustrations from Brahm Revel give a level of detail to the chilling story that gives the reader a graphic vision of this dark horror, each panel shows the fear that these youngsters have along with the graphic detail of the evil that lurks.
Verdict
This is an arc that started strong and is gaining more strength as it moves on, a chilling horror that with hit you harder than most, a generic blueprint told in a far better way than I have ever seen.
