It’s been over four years since Chip Zdarksy and Marco Checchetto took over Marvel’s Daredevil book. The pair ushered in a huge creative resurgence for the character as well as for his long-time partner Elektra. But now it appears their run is set to come to a fiery end in August of this year.
In a cryptic post to social media, Zdarsky shared a new promotional image teasing the end of their saga with an ashen version of Daredevil’s mask. The promotional image reflects the art used to announce their time on the book, an image of the same mask in flames.
Zdarsky and Checchetto kicked off their four year tenure in February 2019. The pair replaced writer Charles Soule and series of artistic collaborators who had helmed the book over the previous three years. During their run Zdarsky and Checchetto even herald in Devil’s Reign, an event which spanned the entirety of the Marvel line.
No word yet on who will be taking over or whether the book will continue in its current form beyond August.
