Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday brought many surprises, including the full cast of Seth Rogen’s upcoming TMNT: Mutant Mayhem movie. However, one thing we didn’t predict to see was the Autobot leader himself Optimus Prime accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award during the presentation. What a year it is to be a Transformers fan.
Now, that’s not to say that he doesn’t deserve it. Optimus Prime is a bold and noble leader. He has also saved the planet countless times. If that doesn’t deserve some kind of reward, then we give up. The Autobot leader, voiced by Transformers legend Peter Cullen, appeared via a hologram and graciously accepted the honour following an introduction from the stars of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Now, if you love a good monologue from Optimus himself, then you’ll definitely want to check out the full presentation below. You could get Peter Cullen to read a shopping list and he’ll make it sound breathtaking.
Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce whole new breeds of Transformers – the Maximals, Predacons and Terrorcons – to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.
The upcoming sequel from Paramount Pictures is directed by Steven Caple Jr and stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, and Luna Lauren Velez. In addition to that, the legend that is Peter Cullen will be back to voice the great Optimus Prime alongside Ron Perlman who will voice Optimus Primal, a transforming gorilla and leader of the Maximals. The cast also includes Peter Dinklage (Scourge), Liza Koshy (Arcee), John DiMaggio (Stratosphere), David Sobolov (Rhinox/Battletrap), Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (Nightbird), Cristo Fernández (Wheeljack), and Tobe Nwigwe (Reek), Michelle Yeoh (Airazor), and Pete Davidson (Mirage).
