If you were looking for signs that Warner Bros. is confident in The Flash then we have some news for you. Overnight, Variety has confirmed that the studio will be premiering the movie at 2023’s CinemaCon event, a full two months before its theatrical release.
As per the trade, CinemaCon is taking place in Las Vegas from April 24 through April 27. Major studios typically bring sizzle reels, first-look trailers and trot out celebrities at the yearly gathering, which is designed to get exhibitors pumped about the movies they’ll put on their screens in the coming year.
Showing a full movie in this setting is considered a major endorsement by the studio and is a big hit with attendees. Last year, Paramount dedicated their huge presentation to premiere Top Gun: Maverick, one of the biggest box office hits of the last decade.
In case you missed it, here’s the huge trailer which dropped during the Super Bowl:
Directed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue and Michael Keaton. The screenplay is by Christina Hodson, with a screen story by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein and Joby Harold.
The Flash will be released in cinemas across the UK on 16th June 2023 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
