We’re in the final countdown. It’s now only three days until the final season premiere of Star Trek: Picard arrives in the UK on Paramount+ and Prime Video. In addition to our recent interviews, today we’re taking a look at the synopsis and official stills gallery for the season premiere.
“The Next Generation” was written by showrunner Terry Matalas and directed by Doug Aarniokoski. The synopsis teases the beginnings of the mission that will bring Jean-Luc’s old crew back together:
After receiving a cryptic, urgent distress call from Dr. Beverly Crusher, Admiral Jean-Luc Picard enlists help from generations old and new to embark on one final adventure: a daring mission that will change Starfleet, and his old crew forever.

In his five-star first impressions on season 3 Neil says “the final season of Star Trek: Picard is destined to go down in history as one of the best the franchise has ever produced. Heartfelt, earnest and hugely compelling. If this is truly the end of the TNG-era then what a way to go!”
The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment, and is distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution on Prime Video, outside of the U.S. and Canada. For series three, Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Terry Matalas, Patrick Stewart, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Doug Aarniokoski and Dylan Massin serve as executive producers. Terry Matalas serves as showrunner for season three.
Series one and two of Star Trek: Picard are currently available on Prime Video internationally in more than 200 countries and territories, and is distributed concurrently by Paramount+ in the U.S.
Season 3 premiere’s on Paramount+ in the US on February 16, 2023, the series returns to screens in the UK on Paramount+ and Prime Video on February 17.
