Review
In this special one shot issue we have a collection of stories with a more romantic feel to them, the different stories take the superhero world ad give it a more human feel. DC fans that are used to the normal fast paced action packed stories will see a change in pace, you do get glimpses of action but this is more focused on the love life of our much loved heroes.
Taking a different look at the lives of heroes such as Power Girl, Harley Quinn takes us on journey through her fantasy and we even take a look at the love life of Constantine albeit a slightly darker tone. A slightly different tone for a DC title bt was strangely enjoyable all the same.
The combination of writing styles worked as a combined issue, it was a little strange to read a bit of a more laid back title from DC and although it worked as a collection it’s probably not one that I need to see more of, what I mean by that is a one shot more or less covered all bases and in that respect another issue isn’t really required in my eyes
In terms of illustrations the collective team behind the art did a good job in bringing the various stories to life, a bit of a different look than normal with the book being a more light and colourful affair rather than the usual dark and dramatic DC fayre.
Verdict
Whilst Harley Quinn Romances isn’t your normal style of DC book, I enjoyed the one-off experience an twist on the universe. A good light, hearted read to discover some different perspectives.
