2023 is going to be a huge year for the Alien franchise. Not only will Noah Hawley’s much anticipated series finally premiere but Fede Álvarez will finally get cameras rolling on the long-rumoured Alien: Romulus.
Little is known about the latest movie in the franchise. It is understood that Álvarez pitched an idea to franchise creator Ridley Scott many years ago and Scott has held on to it ever since. Sources from 20th Century Studios reportedly green lit the film based on the strength of Álvarez’s pitch alone.
A new listing found on the official Film & Television Industry Alliance website has revealed that Álvarez is hoping to begin shooting the film on February 6, 2023. The entry also confirms that the working title as Alien: Romulus. Scott is confirmed to act as a producer on the film.
Romulus is expected to follow in the footsteps of 2022’s Prey and Hellraiser movies by debuted on streaming services.
