Coming hot on the heels of news that Henry Cavill will no longer return to the role of Superman. New DC Studios co-chair James Gunn has revealed he is penning the script for the next movie to feature the Man of Steel.
Gunn is well know for interacting with fans on social media. This morning he’s been quick to make it clear that this latest round of changes is all part of the studio’s new ten year plan for DC.
“I am writing (and have been for a while)” in a series of tweets. “Our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill.”
The new studio head would go on to confirm that no director is in place for the film as yet. He also confirmed that he met with Cavill alongside DC Studios co-chair Peter Safran to break the news.
