The Game Awards brought us many epic moments ranging from sweeping victories, brilliant winning speeches, chilling orchestral performances, all the way to new game announcements and trailers. It was a packed night full of goodies. However, we sat waiting for the release of some gameplay for EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the next chapter in Cal Kestis’ journey, and boy, did it deliver. We absolutely loved Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and we’ve been eager to discover where we’ll be going next. The upcoming sequel will be coming out on March 17, 2023.
The official reveal trailer, presented by Cal Kestis himself- Cameron Monaghan, didn’t reveal too much regarding the story, but we did get a brand new look at the evolving mechanics that have been implemented into this highly anticipated sequel.
Cal’s battle with the Empire continues with old and new friends by his side. But with the looming threat of the Empire growing, Cal will be tested and pushed to the absolute edge. We’ll be forced to confont enemies old and new across the galaxy as we stand up against the Empire. But we won’t be alone… We’ll also have a new range of gadgets, sabers, mounts, and skills at our disposal to aid us on our journey. The galaxy will be ours to explore, and this trailer only gives us a small tease of what’s to come.
One of the main differences so far is the combat. The combat system has been completely revitalised with all-new combat stances that allow players to experiment with Cal’s skills. Players will be able to enjoy dual lightsabers for those lightning quick duels, the crossguard stance for much tougher enemies, as well as many more additional ways to personalise your experience- but we’ll have to wait to find out about those.
