An interesting tidbit of information on the future of animated DC Comics content has come to light. In a report from Deadline it seems that Warner Bros. Television is in talks to close a deal with Prime Video for future projects.
The news came during an appearance by Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman Channing Dungey at the recent Content London event. Dungey teased the news saying the studios is now “exploring animated IP on different platforms”.
“With animation we used to be about staying in-house but now we are doing it on different platforms,” she added. “HBO Max is the first stop but we are in the process of closing a big deal with Amazon featuring DC branded content in animation.”
The news may go some way to explaining why talks have been strongly rumoured between WB and Prime to find a home for the Batman: Caped Crusader animated series.
