Review
In this issue the battle for Hell’s throne seems to coming to an end as Spawn makes plans to position himself to take his seat on what he believes is rightfully his, but getting to that point is potentially a suicide mission as a formidable foe in the shape of Brimstone with his army awaits him. A far better resolution for Spawn would be to enlist those who are actually trying to take him down in a kind of forced truce an unlikely team will take the battle to Brimstone and his army, but it really isn’t going to be that easy for Spawn is it? With the Deadzone open this could potentially go very very wrong.
Sean Lewis has carried on his high level of storytelling with another incredible issue jam packed with raw passion and edge of the seat action that leaves the reader transfixed to the page unable to look up until the end. King Spawn is definitely becoming my favourite of the Spawn series at the moment.
The illustrations from Javi Fernandez bring an intense rawness to the story giving the reader a more multi dimensional reading experience, unlocking your imagination and taking you deep into the Spawn world. Not a bad word can be said about this series an incredible job from the creative team.
Verdict
Well worthy of a 5⭐️ score, like a fine wine this arc just gets better with time becoming an integral part of the Spawn multiverse.
