Avatar: The Way of Water is just around the corner and we have a very special treat for you. Now, Pandora is a big place and we only saw a glimpse back in 2009. Sometimes it can be rather overwhelming especially with such a rich echosystem like the one we saw in Avatar. However, things are about to get a bit simpler. To celebrate the release of Avatar: The Way of Water and to give fans an opportunity to explore Pandora like never before, DK Books are launching their very own Visual Dictionary.
From Josh Izzo comes the official The Way of Water: The Visual Dictionary which will dive into the beautiful world of Pandora, and will feature artwork from Ben Procter and Dylan Cole. We don’t want to give away too much, but you can enjoy a very small first-look which teases what you can expect when you pick up The Visual Dictionary.
Here’s what we know about the beautiful visual guide so far:
“Created in close collaboration with James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and written by experts who worked on the film, this authoritative book is packed with stunning exclusive details. This must-have visual guide showcases the characters, creatures, vehicles, weapons, and locations from the latest adventure in Pandora.
Meet the next generation of Jake Sully and Neytiri’s family, including the mysterious Kiri and the heroic Neteyam, and their brave new allies among the Metkayina clan. Discover the majestic tulkun, speedy skimwings, and the other fauna and flora of Pandora’s oceans. Examine the latest fearsome RDA vehicles and the specialist recom troops under Colonel Quaritch’s command. Uncover the inner workings of Bridehead City and the sacred Cove of the Ancestors.
With a foreword by Sigourney Weaver, Avatar: The Way of Water: The Visual Dictionary is the perfect gift for Avatar fans of all ages.”
They’re not wrong there. The Visual Dictionary is the best way to prepare for The Way of Water. Of course, not all of the answers will be in there, but you’ll be able to walk away with a deeper understanding of Pandora and the plethora of inhabitants that walk, fly and swim.
The Visual Dictionary will be available on December 16th. You can preorder your copy right here.
Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement and Kate Winslet.
Avatar: The Way of Water will be released on December 16th, 2022 exclusively in cinemas. Will you be grabbing your own copy? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
