Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #101 is published by BOOM! Studios, written by Melissa Flores and illustrated by Simona Di Gianfelice and Raúl Angulo.

Issue #101 is available 26th October 2022 either directly from BOOM! Studios online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

The CHARGE TO 100 brought everything together in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #100, and now the Rangers’ future unfolds… as the Teenagers with Attitude are forced to contend with lost friends, cosmic threats, and the return of familiar adversaries with terrifying new powers!

    Review

In this issue we see the continuation of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, with a name with such iconic magnitude it was never just going to finish at 100. The Rangers are beginning to readjust to life after the iconic battle but if you’ve been reading for a while you’d know that life doesn’t stay tranquil for long if you are a Ranger.

The beginning of the book shows the origins of a villainous icon, but does that set the scene for what’s to come? With the moon suddenly disappearing and a distress call coming from an unlikely and somewhat suspicious source the Rangers morph up and get to work finding the origin of the distress call and stopping the threat before it’s too late, but are the Rangers walking into a dangerous trap? Or can this distress call be trusted?

If you think that they are stretching this out them you couldn’t be further from the truth, from what we thought was the peak for the series along come the creative team and add more life and evolve it further. Melissa Flores does a great job in giving fresh blood to the series but still giving you (the reader) the Power Rangers experience we all love and still giving us the edge of the seat reading journey, another huge event seems to be in the horizon.

The illustrations from this series seems to have it’s own style that is becoming synonymous with the series, the different artists involved all seem to be on the same page in terms of artistic creation the main illustration team of Simona Di Gianfelice and Raúl Angulo really bring the book to life each panel is full of colours and striking images that really treats the reader to a top level visual experience.

    Verdict

For me the Power Rangers multiverse is becoming faultless, every story arc that comes from it seems to bring a fresh tone to the story and keeping the overall feeling relevant. Something epic is building and so is my anticipation.
