After teasing some huge action during last month’s Star Trek Day fans finally have their first look at 2023’s fifth season of Star Trek: Discovery. The cast of Discovery has taken to the Empire Stage at New York Comic Con to show off the first footage from the action-packed new season.
Sonequa Martin-Green was billed to attend but due to shooting was unable to make it. Instead fans were greeted by the star in a livestream direct from the captains chair on the bridge of the ship!
A new synopsis for season 5 was released alongside the new trailer:
In season five, Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncover a mystery that sends them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt as well … dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.
As confirmed by the trailer, Mary Wiseman will be returning during season 5 as Tilly. It isn’t yet confirmed how many episodes she will appear in.
