Nintendo has announced a brand new Nintendo Direct presentation that will feature… No gaming news. Instead, this presentation will focus purely on the upcoming film from Illumination- The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Nintendo will launch their livestream tomorrow at 1:05 pm Pacific / 4:05pm Eastern / 9:05pm UK. Now, it’s unclear what else the stream will consist of, but we do know that we’ll have access to the world premiere of the trailer.
That’s right! we’re finally going to get a good look at The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The announcement for the movie and cast caused quite a fuss online, but we’re hoping that this trailer will ease some very worried minds. Everyone that tunes in will be able to watch the trailer together and we cannot wait. To get fans and players excited, Nintendo has shared the first poster for the movie and it is simply brilliant and packed full of details.

The film stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as the villainous Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Amisen as Cranky Kony, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
This new animated film will be produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo, directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, who previously collaborated on the animated series Teen Titans Go! and the film Teen Titans Go! To the Movies. The screenplay of the film will be written by Matthew Fogel, whose writing credits include The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part and Illumination’s film Minions: The Rise of Gru.
