The cast of Warner Bros. and Todd Phillips Joker: Folie à Deux is continuing to grow. THR has confirmed that Jacob Lofland is joining the cast in a key role connected with Arkham Asylum. Lofland joins the recently confirmed Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener who both take on undisclosed roles.
Lofland made his feature debut in 2013’s Mud before appearing in several of the Mazer Runner films. On the small screen, Lofland has appeared in recurring roles on FX’s Justified and AMC’s The Son.
Phillips’ Joker sequel is rumoured to introduce a number of musical elements to the story. Our best guess is this new angle is key to the cast of Lady Gaga, rumoured to be playing the role of Dr. Harleen Quinzell, aka Harley Quinn.
In case you missed it, here’s the official announcement of the sequel:
2019’s Joker starred Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, also starring are Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
Joker: Folie à Deux is currently slated for an October 4, 2024 release date in cinemas.
