Review
In this first issue we take a step back into the world of Frontiersman from a new, fresh perspective. This Antioch arc follows a new main character in the form of mysterious King. Antioch hails from a long lost continent and enters the world of man with a purpose and that purpose is to prevent the human race from destroying the planet. This is a tough challenge but one he is more than willing to step up to as he is on a mission and nothing will stop him until the mission is complete. This will become Antioch’s toughest test as foes in all shapes and sizes will stand in his way.
Patrick Kindlon has written a new story arc that although is based in the same world as Frontiersman this feels like a whole new story with a fresh feeling that stands alone with it’s own strength. The book seems to have gone for an almost anime feel with lots of action and vibrant characters. The story does feel like a bit of a slow burner but there is definitely potential for it to blow into something epic.
Marco Ferrari returns to the world of Frontiersman, bringing with him his unique style and skillset. The top notch illustrations highlight Kindler’s action-packed story and the overall anime style of the book. It creates a fun, adventurous debut issue for the brand new character.
Verdict
I found the beginning of this new arc a little bit of a slow burner but reading between the lines there is definitely potential for the arc to evolve into something epic. A fresh perspective on a familiar world and one that I look forward to see more of.
