Isn’t it strange to think that Obi-Wan Kenobi started airing almost three months ago? And just like that… It was over. Six episodes later and we had to say goodbye once again to Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, no one’s ever really gone are they?
Disney+ has given us short documentary series and specials centering on some of our favourite shows from the world of Star Wars and Marvel. We’ve had one for The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, so of course Obi-Wan Kenobi had to get one next. Considering what Obi-Wan Kenobi gave fans and what it meant for the universe as a whole, it simply had to have one. However, we can’t be the only ones that thought that Disney had accidentally announced a sequel series, right?
Just look at the poster… It shouts “Sequel”, doesn’t it?
Unfortunately not, but on Disney+ Day (September 8th), fans will have the opportunity to dive into the making of Obi-Wan Kenobi with this documentary special. The special will focus on the actors and crew that brought the series to life, as well as the process of bringing these familiar characters back onto our screens.
“This special explores the return of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to the screen, as well as Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to their classic roles. Director Deborah Chow leads the cast and crew as they create new heroes and villains that live alongside new incarnations of beloved Star Wars characters, and an epic story that dramatically bridges the saga films.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return features Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, and the show’s director and showrunner Deborah Chow. If you are a fan of the series, and Star Wars in general, this special is an absolute must. We cannot wait to see how this spectacular series was created. While we definitely won’t get the full story, a small glimpse is good enough for us.
