Review
In this issue we have a more fragmented story as we first follow Vanessa as she goes back to the start and goes back to the cults camp to find herself again and get some much needed answers that she feels she needs. The other side of the story follows Hannah and Reagan as they have fled the danger but that danger still remains on their heels, this isn’t the Chimera this is something more dangerous than that, the Faithful led by Barret are hunting them down it’s time to see a different side of Hannah and one that certainly does surprise, it definitely left me shell shocked.
Cullen Bunn once again does what he does best and that’s writing a thrillingly horrific tale that keeps you gripped to pages and leaving you deep in thought even after you finish, a multidimensional story that covers all bases with an emotional roller coaster ride.
Jonas Scharf keeps with the style that has become unique to this story, each page has a realistic feel about them making the reader feel each event as it unfolds. The flashback and darkened style tells the story well and gives it more depth and gives the reader a better understanding of the events that do unfold.
Verdict
Basilisk continues to be a gripping story. Each month Cullen Bunn’s unfolding mystery leaves the hairs standing up on the back of my neck. An undeniably compelling read from month-to-month.
