Review
In this issue we see Soul Crusher confront Spawn for reasons behind his banishing, an intense confrontation ensues but the main issue here is getting to Natasha before it’s too late and Plague finally takes it’s full hold. It’s down to the Scorched to hunt down Plague and take him down, however doing so could mean taking out Natasha too this mission is definitely going to be tricky, all guns blazing won’t work this time. The Scorched are thundering along the trail but something is lying in wait this may well be a tough test for the Scorched.
A dust cloud appears with something in the distance, they can just make out the figure stood before them, who or what is it? could this spell the end of The Scorched?
As a series The Scorched has for me probably been the most anticipated, a Spawn super group putting together some of my favourite characters in comics. I have enjoyed this series from the start, not every issue had been full on but you can definitely see that as the comic evolves an explosive event is on the horizon. Sean Lewis is an incredible writer and does a great job in bringing all the big characters together under one arc, the story has never felt stale on it’s path and I feel if anything it’s about to get alot better.
I’ve come to expect a certain standard of artwork from anything out of the Spawn multiverse and The Scorched hasn’t let me down yet, Stephen Segovia provides awes inspiring artwork that has you transfixed to the paged and special mentions go to Puppeteer Lee for providing an incredible cover for this issue such a dramatic look and style.
Verdict
Again a faultless release, top marks every time a series that has lived up to the expectation and then some. As a series it has strengthend the love I have for the Spawn multiverse leaving me wanting more.
