Synopsis
In the stunning climax, Isona Maive, the recently released Hidden Planeswalker, plans a reckless mission in the most dangerous corner of the multiverse—hoping to save her home plane, even if it imperils the rest of the multiverse. With Liliana’s pupil at the mercy of Tezzeret’s poisonous and misleading whispers, will Liliana have the strength to be a hero, even if it makes her feel like a villain?
Review
In this issue we see the conclusion of the off shoot Magic story arc that saw the hidden planeswalker, Isona Maive released from the darkness and back into the planes once again but things don’t necessarily work out as they should.
Isona has good intentions to save her home plane and correct her past mistakes, however if she saves her plane she could put the rest of the multiverse at risk, it’s a case of heart over head in the decision making here. If it was only Isona making the decision then it would probably have been an easy one, however with a certain Tezzeret whispering in her ear simple decsision making becomes a but cloudy. As always Tezzeret’s intentions are far from good however convincing he may come across, if he gets his claws into Isona and her powers the consequences would be catastrophic for the multiverse it is down to Liliana to save her once pupil and save the planed at whatever cost, this may prove to be a tough test but Tezzeret must be stopped, can she do it in time?
This series has definitely gone out with a bang, throughout the arc the story has been building to this epic ending. Mairghread Scott has done a fantastic job in writing a series that is a step away from the main multiverse stories but seems integral to the multiverse as a whole, each book developed the story further into the perfect ending.
The illustrations from Fabiana Mascolo and Jacques Salomon were stunning in this book, throughout the series the artwork has been top level but for some reason this issue the art seems to have been elevated further taking the reader on a magical journey that you will not want to put down.
Verdict
I give this issue a deserved top marks score. Incredible writing partnered with near-hypnotic artwork, it really is a series not to be missed!
