Rogue One is an incredibly special film for many reasons. Sure, it gave us the now iconic scene with Lord Vader, but it also gave us the opportunity to explore the Rebellion before they were victorious. Before Luke came along and destroyed the first Death Star the Rebellion thrived in the shadows. They were fragmented, and Disney’s upcoming series focusing on Cassian Andor may just explore how tough it was for the Rebels to survive while the Empire reigned supreme- Quite literally at the peak of their power.
Now, today came with two exciting bits of news. Number one, we received a brand new trailer which is beyond epic. Number two, the air date for Andor has changed but there is a nice surprise attached to that… Rather than airing on August 31st, Andor will air on September 21sr with a three-episode premiere. So, yes unfortunately we have to wait a bit longer… But we are getting three episodes in one day and that in itself is pretty exciting, right?

The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.
Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.
Star Wars original series Andor will be streaming on Disney+ with a three-episode premiere from September 21st.
