Synopsis
Spawn finally comes to understand who has been working against him, and now he’s on the hunt for the Court of Priests!
Review
In this issue we see the story arc take a more full on approach as King Spawn discovers who has been working against him all this time, he’s gunning for the Court of Priests and will do anything and go through anyone to get his hands on them, a calm King Spawn is scary enough but an angry one is the stuff of the worst ever nightmares. The forces of heaven and hell are looking to take out King Spawn but he most definitely won’t be lying down and surrendering, instead you can expect a full on blood bath as this is revenge of epic proportions.
Ever since the first issue I had a feeling that this series will be one of my favourites of this year, it turns out that I was slightly wrong it’s not one of my favourites I would definitely say it is my favourite and one I definitely look forward to releasing. Sean Lewis has effortlessly created an offshoot story arc that has created a strong leading character that can stand amongst the iconic characters of the Spawn world, he has created a world that is evolving with every issue but not losing it’s true authentic Spawn feel, Sean is one of the stand out writers in comics at the moment and I’m definitely excited to see where he takes this story.
An epic story deserves artwork that matches that level and Javi Fernandez is just the man to do it, creating an artistic masterpiece that combines the eye catching detail with the blood and gore that we are used to seeing in Spawn comics, the creative team have created a comic that stands out on the shelf and one that is a must for Spawn fans.
Verdict
There is no doubt to what score I will give this comic, I think from reading the review it was a dead cert that a full marks score would be given. As a Spawn fan I was sceptical at first when different stories began to appear, but I didn’t need to worry as this King Spawn arc is only making the multiverse stronger and I excited to see what Sean and the rest of the creative team have planned. A definite recommendation from me.
