Today kicks off Netflix’s annual celebration of all things geek. Geeked Week is set to lift the lid on plenty of new content coming to the streamer over the next 12 months and tonight the celebrations kicked off in style.
The streamer has finally confirmed when fans will get to watch the hotly anticipated adaption of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman. The series, first announced in 2019, will debut its ten episode first season on August 5, 2022. It’s widely understood the ten episodes will cover the first two arcs of the comic book.

Adapted from the legendary comic by Neil Gaiman, The Sandman stars Tom Sturridge as the Master of Dreams. The series also stars Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, and Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeeve Bhaskar as Abel and Cain.
It was also confirmed tonight that Mark Hamill will provide the voice of Merv Pumpkinhead.
