Synopsis
The new job approaches and planning commences. There’s just one problem: Satomi can’t do what they need her to do. She’d better work it out fast, though, because when her home life and her new career both threaten to come crashing down, Satomi will be forced to decide: which does she want to save more?
Review
In this issue we see the continuation of the Radiant Red arc where Satomi has joined up with the club, a unique group all with unique powers kind of like a group of superhero mercenaries. Satomi needs to recreate her powers that got her chosen for this job in the first place, the only problem is Satomi just doesn’t know how she did it or even what made her do it. Some deep soul searching is needed and fast this is the biggest heist they’ve done and Satomi or Red is relied upon.
Cherish Chen has written a story that has a deep routed theme of personal anguish and exploration as we see Satomi grow into her “hero” character, a unique blend of all out action and self discovery really gives this story arc different dimensions throughout.
For this book Miguel Muerto and David Lafuente have kept with the winning formula of past issues and sticking with that over the top almost anime feel to the illustrations that works really well in bringing the pages to life with a unique blend of bold shades and dramatic colourings.
Verdict
A good addition to the multiverse of stories but also beginning to evolve into it’s own stand out character. A thoughtful, action packed story arc definitely recommended.
