Review
In this issue we see the continuation of the King Spawn arc in an emotionally driven story following Terry as he makes his way to meet face to face with Spawn. In a rage filled story on love and vengeance we see the progression of the characters in more of a multidimensional story than your usual Spawn title.
This issue takes a bit of a different path in terms of the visual style of the comic as the entire comic is make in black and white with dramatic reds flowing through to highlight the built up rage within the story as Terry fights his way to his meeting.
The comic has a similar feel to that of Sin City and looks great in a completely different way to that I am used to, Javi Fernandez has done an incredible job in bringing a unique style to an established title giving Sean Lewis the chance to better tell the story.
Sean Lewis has written a story that gives a deeper perspective of the Spawn world building a multi layered story mixing deep routed rage and emotion perfectly partnered with the Red, Black and White theme.
Verdict
Another issue which adds depth and nuance to the world of King Spawn. A great addition to the Spawn multiverse.
