The first trailer for James Cameron’s long-awaited sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, dropped exclusively in cinemas around the world when keen movie goers went to watch Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. However, the trailer has now appeared online for everyone to watch, along with a brand new poster.

So, where will The Way of Water take us? The highly anticipated sequel is set more than a decade after the events of the first film. Avatar: The Way Of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.

Speaking of tragedies, something must happen to Jake’s family that forces him to once again defend his home. Will the threat be the human invaders once again? Or is there something bigger lurking around the corner? Honestly, even with this first trailer it’s actually impossible to guess what happens…

Anyway, we won’t keep you waiting. The first trailer is available to view now. We hope that you’re sat down for it. While it isn’t the most explosive trailer in the world, this short snippet sets the tone beautifully. The humans are still around, Jake and his family are exploring Pandora, and we’re invited to experience this technological feat on the biggest screen imaginable. Strap in. Zone out… And escape to Pandora.

Eager fans can rush and return to the beautiful yet treacherous world of Pandora in December. Avatar: The Way of Water is set to be released on December 16th, 2022. Are you excited for James Cameron’s sequel? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
