CinemaCon has been an absolute treat this year. When Disney took to the stage, anything could have happened. Since Disney encompass a lot of what we enjoy in the cinema and at home, there’s so much that could have been teased at this year’s CinemaCon. However, we stepped away from the world of superheroes and Multiverses, and travelled back to the beautiful planet of Pandora. That’s right, we finally got some more infomation about James Cameron’s sequel to the 2009 blockbuster Avatar.

While the teaser was only shown to the attendees, we weren’t excluded completely. Rather than receiving a look at the teaser, we did get an official title drop that revealed that Avatar 2 would be called Avatar: The Way Of Water. As previously seen in behind the scenes images, the idea of exploring the waters of Pandora was teased very early on. However, we don’t think any of us could have predicted just how important water would be for Avatar 2 especially since we barely saw it in the first film.

Given the new tools and techniques that Cameron and his incredible team have been working on specifically for this franchise, we’re certain that Avatar: The Way of Water will push the boundaries of cinema and provide an experience like no other.

Don’t despair. It’s not like we’re never going to see that teaser trailer. In fact, the trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water is set to arrive sooner than you think. According to multiple sources, the trailer will drop exclusively in cinemas ahead of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. See? That isn’t too bad of a wait, right?

So, where will The Way of Water take us? The highly anticipated sequel is set more than a decade after the events of the first film. Avatar: The Way Of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.

Eager fans can rush and return to the beautiful yet treacherous world of Pandora in December. Avatar: The Way of Water is set to be released on December 16th, 2022. With multiple installments planned, and currently being filmed, it’s safe to assume that this film will set the stage for a much larger threat that will haunt and chase Jake and his family. What could it be? Perhaps the trailer will give us a hint…

Make sure you keep your eyes open for more Avatar news. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any new and exciting updates. Are you excited for Avatar 2? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
