“These are the voyagers of the starship Enterprise…” it’s time to take a look at the opening title sequence for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. As anticipation builds for next week’s US premiere of the latest Trek series, actor Anson Mount has taken to social media to discuss what he calls “the greatest honor of my career to date.”
The actor is, of course, referring to his chance to recite the legendary monologue which has served as the manta for many a Trek series and movie. But that wasn’t all. In the video below not only do we get to hear Mount utter those famous words, we also get our first listen to the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds opening theme.
The theme, which certainly riffs on the classic Star Trek theme tune, plays over some stunning visuals of the U.S.S. Enterprise as is sets our on its five-year mission to explore the furthest reaches of our galaxy.

In other news, it’s been confirmed that here in the UK we will need to wait for the summer launch of Paramount+ before we’ll be able to watch Strange New Worlds. Whilst it means a longer wait, we certainly look forward to the streaming home of Star Trek finally launching on home turf.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romjin as Number One and Ethan Peck as Spock. Joining them are Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga and Bruce Horak as Hemmer.
The series premieres on Paramount+ in the US on May 5, 2022. We’re still awaiting confirmation of when and where the series will air in international markets.
