After building up the hype with a series of character promos, Paramount+ has now released a full trailer for its upcoming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premiere. The series comes to audiences in the US from May 5, 2022 with international airdates still to be confirmed.
A new synopsis for series has also been released:
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The all-new series will feature fan favorites from season two of Star Trek: Discovery, Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.
As with all the Paramount+ Star Trek promos, the YouTube video is unavailable to international markets. But you can watch the full video in the tweet below. You might want to hold on to your seat though, it’s a wild ride!
As well as the latest trailer the studio has also released a series of first look stills from the series which you can check out below. We’ve got new looks at all the main cast including a number of different uniform variants that will be on show when the series hits our screens.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romjin as Number One and Ethan Peck as Spock. Joining them are Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga and Bruce Horak as Hemmer.
The series premieres on Paramount+ in the US on May 5, 2022. We’re still awaiting confirmation of when and where the series will air in international markets.
