As The Batman continues its journey towards $700M at the worldwide box office, we’ve been given a glimpse at a moment cut from the theatrical experience.
Director Matt Reeves has previous discussed a second scene featuring Barry Keoghan as his now revealed Unseen Arkham Inmate character. Unless you’ve been offline for the last month, you will by now know that Keoghan is actually playing a proto-version of Joker. This new scene gives us a much clearer look at Keoghan’s makeup and Reeves’ design for the Clown Prince of Crime in an intimate moment with Robert Pattinson’s Batman.
Likely released to remind us all that the Warner Bros. film is still in cinemas, the scene finds Batman using Joker as a Hannibal-esque mentor in his mission to understand The Riddler (Paul Dano). What follows is a near 5 minute exchange between the two characters which is sure to have fans teased for more of the arch enemies together on screen.

In our ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review of the film Neil says “Matt Reeves has created the definitive live-action Dark Knight. The World’s Greatest Detective may have met his match in Paul Dano’s Riddler but everything in The Batman adds up Bruce Wayne’s most bombastic big-screen outing to-date.”
Written and directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman is set to star Robert Pattinson in the title role, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Paul Dano as Edward Nashton.
The Batman is in UK cinemas now.
