Review
Ghost Cage is a new comic series from Image Comics with a dark and mysterious tone. Its story centres around a super scientist that has revolutionised energy for the entire planet, many call him a mad scientist but you could well call him a revolutionary someone that is fighting for the little people against corporate wrong doings.
The main concept of Ghost Cage is something of an elaborate cover up. Underneath lie some monstrous secrets which are waiting to be uncovered. That job fails to a run-of-the-mill worker who is certainly not used to a world of espionage.
This is an introduction for me to the workings of Caleb Goellner and Nick Dragotta. I found the story to be a bit slow to start I think it’s more a case of laying the foundations for what will come in future issues. The overall writing was a good standard and felt it did well to build the story up into something that the reader begins to anticipate what’s to come.
The art style is dark and it has an eerie feel to it with most of the book in black and white which gives it a more dramatic feel and depth.
Verdict
A comic I feel will take maybe a couple of issues to get into gear but the foundations have certainly be laid, it will be a case of waiting to see what will come next hopefully it will build the story up more as the potential is definitely there.
