DCTV fans can breathe a sigh of relief this morning as The CW has finally begun handing out renewals to some of its most successful series. Overnight the network has confirmed new seasons for The Flash, Riverdale, Superman & Lois and many more.
The network has also renewed Kung Fu, Walker, Nancy Drew and All American for new seasons.
The network has traditionally handed out early renewals during January. But with a potential sale on the cards, this year they have chosen to be a little more conservative with plans for the 2022/23 season.
No word on whether The Flash’s landmark ninth season will be its last. It is understood that Grant Gustin has negotiated a new, one-year deal to return as Barry Allen in a shortened season. The story is likely to recall when Stephen Amell returned for a shortened final season of Arrow in 2020.
The futures of several other series currently remain up in the air. Both DC’s Naomi and 4400 are waiting for news on potential second seasons. Dynasty awaits news on whether it will return for season 5 and both Charmed and Legacies await news on potential fourth seasons.
The futures of Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman are also currently to be determined. If successfully renewed, the crew of the Waverider will be entering their seventh season whilst Javicia Leslie’s Ryan Wilder would be returning for season four.
