Basilisk #8 is published by BOOM! Studios, written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Jonas Scharf.

Issue #8 will be available from 16th March 2022 either directly from the Boom! Studios online shop or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

Vanessa descends upon another ghost town with the Faithful and Barret in tow, this time the one where Hannah’s family died, and Hannah isn’t far behind, on the hunt for Vanessa. In the aftermath of the confrontation, Vanessa retreats to the community where it all began, finding an eerie sight both familiar and unexpected.

    Review

One of the most gripping amd horrific comic series I have read is back with issue #8. In this issue the story continues as Vanessa and Reegan regroup to end this horrific game of cat and mouse once and for all, the evil Hannah is using her powers to connect to Reegan through her mind and directing her straight to her, however this may well be a trap and although it’s a great opportunity to wipe out the evil once and for all, could it really be that straight forward? With the Chimera all but wiped out it’s down to the Faithful and Hannah to continue the evil bidding of the cult,Vanessa and Reegan must find them be its too late.

This series introduced me to the workings of Cullen Bunn and I will admit I’ve been gripped from the off, a comic that is full of emotion and intense edge of the seat reading. The intense cat and mouse story has been a full on thrill ride in all it’s horrific glory.

The illustrations from Jonas Scharf perfectly capture the story that Cullen is trying to portray with chilling detail and each horrific scene expertly captured in all it’s gory detail a perfect partnership creating the most horrific comic series.

    Verdict

A chillingly graphic story that will grip you and take you deep within the pages. An exciting story that will have you on the edge of your seat with immersive storytelling and graphic detail, would definitely recommend to any horror fan.
