Just last month we got the shock news that Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise would be reuniting for a fourth film in the so-called Kelvin Timeline of Star Trek. Now, at a red carpet premiere for All the Old Knives, Pine has spoken to his press about his excitement to return.
Speaking with Variety the Wonder Woman actor said “I think everybody was like, “Did you hear about this?” [Laughs]. We’re usually the last people to find out, but I do know we’re all excited. Whenever they want to send us a script, we’re ready for it.”
In a further interview with Entertainment Weekly Pine was pushed on his excitement to reunite with his cast members.
“I know we are all excited to come back and would love to come back. This is a tight family. We’ve been working together for fifteen years… I think we’re ready to get back to work and excited to see a script, whenever that should come in and excited for Matt [Shakman] to direct it and excited to work.”
Little is known about the film beyond plans to bring back Pine alongside co-stars Zachary Quinto (Spock), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Karl Urban (Bones), John Cho (Sulu) and Simon Pegg (Scotty).
The untitled film currently as a release date of December 22, 2023.
