Gunslinger Spawn #5 is published by Image Comics, written by Todd McFarlane and illustrated by Brett Booth.
Issue #5 is available from 23rd February 2022 either directly from Image Comics or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.
Synopsis
The return of the new and more powerful CLOWN continues!!! His epic return comes with a double dose of evil, as he has found a way to split himself in two. Now, both the Clown and the Violator can attack the Gunslinger at the same time!
Review
Gunslinger as a series is quickly becoming one of my favourite from the Spawn world, the Gunslinger character is growing with each issue. Issue #5 sees the continuation of the battle between the Clown and Gunslinger and it’s heating up with Clown now more powerful than here ever been before, can Gunslinger match up to this evil foe. Clown and Violator are determined to take down Gunslinger, but is it him they are really after? Clown has a solution for all but can Gunslinger trust him, not likely but we shall see.
Todd McFarlane is a writer that needs no hype or introduction he is the godfather of Spawn, it was hi creation and baby that he has nurtured into the much loved comic series it is now, with Gunslinger Todd has reinvented Spawn with a new character but still sticking to the traditional Spawn theme, he’s not reinventing the wheel here he’s just making it better as for me Gunslinger is a strong character that adds more depth to the Spawn multiverse and I am looking forward to see the character evolve.
Brett Booth once again takes the reigns of illustrations in this issue bringing his artistic flair to the comic in true Spawn style, each and every page is a masterpiece with immense detail used and yes with it being a Spawn title it is graphic.
Verdict
Gunslinger Spawn is a stand out comic series for 2022. The story works on every level, the writing is captivating and the illustrations are mind blowing all making for a premium comic title. As a story arc this is evolving into an arc not to be missed.
